Every Wednesday morning the leaders on beach project meet for leaders training. This summer Charlie Brooks has been teaching about how It’s not about you (you can’t save anyone or make anyone grow), but it includes you (God uses people to advance the gospel in others’ hearts). This week’s talk was on how your life is your best pulpit – people are going to learn and grow the most from your life rather than what you teach them with your words.

This past weekend our leaders of our Summer Beach Project (SBP) and Cross Cultural Project (CCP) got together for some training on leadership for the summer. We had talks on the “head” of a leader, how to lead a d-group, how to have a one-on-one, and how to teach someone to study the Bible. We also had lots of hang out time to play games and get to know the other leaders that will be attending this summer. One of the most exciting parts of the weekend for the leaders on the SBP is when they find out which team they are on for the summer. The Team Leaders sent each group of room leaders on a scavenger hunt to find out who was going to be leading them this summer. Andrew Knight, our SBP director, gave a talk the last morning on our theme for the summer that will be revealed broadly at a later date. Overall it seems like everyone came away from the retreat with new excitment for the summer and what is going to do through the SBP and CCP.
